Playing Modern Warfare Remastered requires Infinite Warfare disc to work

However, those who purchase any of the non-digital special editions of Infinite Warfare will need to have the physical disk in the tray in order to play Modern Warfare.Things are different depending on which version of the game you get. PlayStation 4 users will need to fully download Modern Warfare Remastered from the PlayStation Network for the physical version of Infinite Warfare‘s special editions. The Xbox One version of Modern Warfare comes on the Infinite Warfare disk but will require an additional download in order to play it. Since both need to either be downloaded or require an extra download, the games cannot be played without an internet connection.Steam doesn’t offer a physical version of the game. Instead, a Steam key will come with the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare that has both Modern Warfare and Infinite Warfare. The FAQ doesn’t specify whether the games can be accessed separately or if one needs to boot up Infinite Warfare in order to access Modern Warfare.These rules do not apply to the digital-only versions of the Legacy and Digital Deluxe editions of the game which do not come with physical game disks. Given how some people would rather play Modern Warfare than Infinite Warfare, it appears that Activision has made having the physical disk a requirement in order to prevent customers from downloading and installing Modern Warfare on their systems and then selling Infinite Warfare.It should be noted that PS4 users who pre-ordered either the Digital Legacy Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition of Infinite Warfare can download and play the campaign of Modern Warfare right now without the need for a physical game disk.last_img read more
