FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The RCMP has confirmed that a 69-year-old suspect, well known to authorities, was taken into custody following a robbery at the Bank of Montreal on Friday afternoon.At 12:21 p.m. that day, the Fort St. John RCMP was notified of a hold up alarm at the bank. Officers attended the scene and learned from witness accounts that a man, all alone, had entered the building and demanded money.The suspect then departed with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon seemed to be produced, but the suspect did indicate to the bank employee that he did have a weapon with him.- Advertisement -After reviewing surveillance footage, the suspect was identified and officers attended the last known residence of the man. He was then taken in to custody without incident or causing injury to anyone.The suspect was taken before a Justice of the Peace on Saturday, and Cpl. Dave Tyreman says he is to appear in Provincial Court sometime today.
