HARPS RETURN TO WINNING WAYS AGAINST WEXFORD

first_imgFinn Harps recorded their first win in eight games by a single goal over Wexford Youths at Finn Park tonight.McHugh scored for HarpsNot for the first time Harps can thank Kevin McHugh for making the decisive strike after he netted on 48 minutes. The visitors started the brighter and Ciaran Gallagher denied Danny Fitzpatrick with a full-length save after just ten minutes. However Harps, under the guidance of Sean Wizzard McGowan who was filling in for the holidaying Peter Hutton, began to get on top. Both McHugh and Mark Forker could have broken the deadlock.Harps did manage to go ahead when James Doherty broke well down the wing to cut back for McHugh to finish form close range. The home side should have gone on to score more with chances falling to Mickey Funston and McHugh again. Wexford tried to break down Harps who defended well and in the end Harps were decent value for the three points. HARPS RETURN TO WINNING WAYS AGAINST WEXFORD was last modified: July 26th, 2013 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:finn harpswexford youthslast_img read more

WEEKEND WEATHER: DONEGAL MAY DODGE WORST OF STORMS

first_imgNarin beach sunset by Mary FureyDONEGAL may dodge the worst of the weekend storms, says Met Eireann. It was a beautiful evening across most of the county last night with temperatures touching 21C yesterday afternoon, but there were some overnight heavy showers, particularly in the northern parts of Donegal. While the rest of the country will see high winds and heavy downpours later today, Donegal may just dodge it. It will be close and humid today with temperatures up to 22C.“The best of the weather on Friday and over the weekend will be in Donegal,” said Met Eireann. The county could see rain and showers on both Saturday and Sunday – with Monday beginning to look really good.* Pic Narin beach sunset by Mary Furey The national forecast is below:FRIDAY NIGHT: A wet and breezy night almost countrywide, with outbreaks of rain, heaviest and most persistent across parts of the south and east. Rather windy too near eastern fringes with fairly strong onshore north to northeast winds here. Mild and humid, with temperatures falling no lower than 12 to 15 degrees Celsius.SATURDAY: A fairly breezy day, with moderate to fresh northwest winds. Mostly cloudy with scattered outbreak of rain and drizzle, most likely occurring early on in the day. Long dry periods developing through the day though, with best chance of any sunshine in the west. Highest temperatures will range 16 degrees Celsius near north and northeast coasts to 20 degrees Celsius near Atlantic coasts.SUNDAY: Winds will be much lighter, coming from a northerly direction. Once again a good deal of cloud is expected to cover the country, but some sunny spells will break through at times. Overall the day will bring mostly dry conditions, but some light passing showers will occur. Highest temperatures will range 16 degrees near northern margins to 20 degrees Celsius along southern margins.NEXT WEEK: Monday will most likely be dry and rather mild, with sunny spells and moderate northerly winds. However present indications suggest it will turn cool thereafter with no sign of settled weather. WEEKEND WEATHER: DONEGAL MAY DODGE WORST OF STORMS was last modified: July 6th, 2012 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:donegal daily weather channelWEEKEND WEATHER: DONEGAL MAY DODGE WORST OF STORMSlast_img read more
