Germany Willing to Accelerate Partnership with Morocco Vice Chancellor

Rabat – The German government is willing to accelerate the pace of partnership with Morocco and to encourage investment in several areas, particularly in education and vocational training, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Minister of Economy and Energy, Sigmar Gabriel, said here on Monday during talks with head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane.Both sides hailed friendship and cooperation relations between Morocco and Germany, which witnessed a major development following he signing in 2013 of the Declaration of Rabat on the Moroccan-German partnership, Government Chief’s Department said in a statement.The German Vice-Chancellor praised the political, economic and social reforms undertaken by Morocco, which enabled the kingdom to become a key partner of the EU in the region and noted that Morocco offers important investment and trade opportunities as well as broad prospects for partnership in various areas, the statement added. Talks also focused on several issues of common interest, according to the same source.A delegation of German officials and businessmen headed by Sigmar Gabriel is paying an official visit to Morocco.With MAP
